10 October 2018, 04:57 | Elsie Buchanan

John Prine has been nominated for entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Despite its name, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has been accepting nominees from all genres, regardless of their connection to rock'n'roll. What about Def Leppard or Devo?

At Ceremonial Swearing-In, Trump Apologizes to Kavanaugh for His ‘Pain and Suffering’
The Supreme Court will be hearing a case about an immigrant who has a prior criminal record but is now out of prison. Only one USA supreme court justice has ever been impeached - Samuel Chase, in 1804, who was acquitted by the Senate.

Devo, Roxy Music, Nicks (as a solo performer, Fleetwood Mac was inducted in 1998), Prine, and Rundgren are all first-time nominees. Fans can help narrow the list of 15 down to 5 by voting here. The 2019 ballot, released earlier this morning, snubs classic heavy metal bands: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Slayer and Pantera are among the artists who are eligible, but not included. This year's lucky names will be announced in December 2018, while the ceremony itself will take place on March 29, 2019.

Now the shortlisted artists have been chosen, ballots are sent to more than 1,000 historians, members of the music industry and artists - including every living Rock Hall inductee - and the five performers receiving the most votes will become the class of 2019.
