An emergency meeting has been held by council leaders and the emergency services to organise rescue efforts after flash floods on the Spanish island of Majorca.
"The situation is a disaster and we're trying to locate survivors and help people but everything is flooded and people can not leave their homes", said Antonia Bauza, a senior official at San Llorenc mayor's office.
The town of Sant Llorenc is around 60 kilometres east of Palma - the capital of the Mediterranean island.

Public broadcaster TVE showed footage of flooded streets and overturned cars along the guardrails of a major road.
Most of the victims were discovered in the town of Sant Llorenc and another in S'illot. Rivers burst their banks, and swamped homes - forcing some people to take shelter in a sports center in the nearby town of Manacor.
Between five and 20 people are still thought to be missing after the downpours, local media reported.
Around 100 emergency rescue workers, three helicopters and a Hercules transport plane from the Spanish military have been sent from Valencia to help.
Weather forecasters reported that eight inches of rain fell in just four hours.
A spokesperson for the Spanish government's office in the Balearic Islands told AFP news agency that nine people died in the floods.

When asked to confirm reports that a British couple were among the fatalities, the UK Foreign Office responded with a statement to Euronews saying: "We are in contact with the Spanish authorities responding to flooding in Majorca, and urgently seeking updates from them".
