Google Quietly Launches Third-Gen Chromecast

Google Announces Pixel 3, Pixel Slate Tablet, New Chromecast, Home Hub, More

It's not immediately clear whether this feature will be available on last-gen Chromecasts, or whether it will be exclusive to new models, though.

Google has finally introduced wireless charging into its phones with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, and as such, the firm has also debuted its Pixel Stand wireless charger. However, these features are not new; they're just nice to have. But as stated on Google's freshly updated support page, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are guaranteed to get Android updates through October 2021. The notable difference, however, is in the display size and battery. Also, Google has added wireless charging this time around.

This includes a new smart video speaker, the Home Hub, that will compete with Amazon's own Echo Show device and the Facebook Portal home camera, which was revealed on Monday. Google says it wanted to make this a device people were comfortable putting in all areas of the home. The natural-sounding robot-assistant by Google, complete with "umms" and "ahhs" amidst conversations, wowed some observers, but left others fretting over the ethics of how the human-seeming software might be used. For example, you can have your Google Photos uploads automatically shown on the Hub like a fancy photo frame.

Google has unveiled the new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL smartphones.

DC Comics hires James Gunn after Disney fires him
According to The Hollywood Reporter Gunn "has closed a deal to pen the script but, at this stage, there is no director deal". O'Connor had been hired to both write and direct the film and was hard at work on the project for the past year.

The Pixel Slate is the company's first in-house tablet in over three years.

"At 12.3" the Pixel Slate is not a device you can hold in one hand for prolonged time. Single USB-C ports are found on the left and right sides, and a pogo pin connection is on the bottom. Storage is 32, 64, 128, or 256GB. Though we didn't get to test the display too much - for that wait for our full review - we do believe that it will do a fine job in terms of viewing angles and picture reproduction. The Pixel 3 starts shooting a second before you press the button and a second after - looking for the moments where everyone has their eyes open and facing the camera. Across all SKUs, the keyboard case is a $150 add-on.

It is available to download on earlier Pixel phones. There were rumors of a secret third phone, but of course, that was nonsense.

Both devices appear to have leaked significantly and have been claimed to come with a Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB of RAM and an improved camera system. On the glass back, there's a fingerprint reader and one camera; on the front, there's a notch in the screen to hide its front-facing cameras. It means the phone can have more screen real estate, without having to allow for a thicker bezel at the top of a phone. As far as the design, the Pixel 3 XL offers a large 6.3-inch display with a notch, while the Pixel 3 keeps things more traditional with its heavy bordered 5.5-inch display.

Why won't the Duchess of Cornwall be at Princess Eugenie's wedding?
Sarah Ferguson will be attending the wedding of her daughter Princess Eugenie to Jack Brooksbank this Friday. Camilla Parker-Bowles is skipping Princess Eugenie's upcoming wedding to Jack Brooksbank .

First impressions suggest this is going to be a lot of fun - and there's a drastic difference between the regular front camera and that wide view.

This would make the Google Pixel Slate a very decent mix between the smooth, but limited Android and the versatile, but resource heavy Windows. The display has a resolution of 2960×1440, and it's also OLED.

The Google Pixel 3 XL is an excellent Android smartphone with a focus on software while the Galaxy Note 9 offers compelling hardware and software experiences. Many other phones already have similar hardware for security. Google Pixel 3 XL & Pixel 3 Officially Launched; Prices Starts From USD 799.

Google Pixel 3 Event
With Google's focus on digtal well-being comes Family Link which allows to set diital ground rules for the Pixel Slate . There's even supposed to be a desktop mode, similar to what we saw on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 (but hopefully better).
