XCloud : when Microsoft goes to the Cloud gaming

Today, Im excited to share with you one of our key projects that will take us on an accelerated journey to that future world: Project xCloud, ” said Kareem Choudhry, Corporate VP, Gaming Cloud, Microsoft.

"Microsoft is planning to begin public trials on the streaming service sometime in 2019 so they can learn and scale with different volumes and locations". This move looks to be similarly targeting the platform boundaries we've been locked behind for so long, instead opening up the Xbox library to more devices than the company's dedicated hardware can reach alone. 'Ultimately, Project xCloud is about providing gamers - whether they prefer console or PC - new choices in when and where they play, while giving mobile-only players access to worlds, characters and immersive stories they haven't been able to experience before.

Microsoft is now testing xCloud on mobile phones and tablets. In the name Project xCloud, their game streaming service aims to provide console-quality games to smart-phone devices, computers, and consoles, public trials of which would be starting in the year 2019. Currently, this project is still being tested on some devices, connected via Bluetooth to an Xbox Wireless Controller, which also allow you to play via touch input. Would you use a controller on your mobile or touchscreen? Developers will have to do minimal work to enable those games to run via Microsoft's xCloud Project. Microsoft is now testing this service and it will be rolled out for pubic trials in 2019. The team at Microsoft Research wants to fight the latency problems which are an enemy to game streaming by implementing enhancements in networking topology and introducing new methods of video encoding and decoding.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Gunn "has closed a deal to pen the script but, at this stage, there is no director deal". O'Connor had been hired to both write and direct the film and was hard at work on the project for the past year.

"I may think that some saying the future of gaming is 100% streaming are looking to reclaim the % royalty now paid on content purchased via digital storefronts more than delivering an improved consumer experience".
