He said the burden of mental illness had risen dramatically worldwide in the past 25 years, partly due to societies ageing and more children surviving into adolescence, yet "no country is investing enough" to tackle the problem. "For over a decade, we have had doctors who are consultants in sport and exercise medicine looking after our elite athletes", he added. We have commenced the construction of primary health centres across the state to reach all Edo people and residents irrespective of where they reside.
The new campaign highlights that while we can all feel stressed, anxious, low or have trouble sleeping, there are simple actions we can take to manage these issues and prevent them from becoming more serious.
