While there was no denial that Ronaldo had indeed met Mayorga at some point, Christiansen said that Ronaldo claims everything that happened that fateful night in Las Vegas was "completely consensual". However, Christiansen has said such documents are "pure inventions".
"Cristiano Ronaldo will have 20 days from the date of service of the lawsuit to answer our complaint in Kathryn Mayorga's case", the statement read.
Mayorga's attorneys, Leslie Stovall and Larissa Drohobyczer, did not immediately respond to telephone, email and text messages.
Ronaldo was left out of Portugal's squad for their forthcoming matches against Poland and Scotland, but continues to have the full support of both club and country.
One of Ronaldo's major sponsors, Nike, said it is "deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations". The lawsuit seeks to void that $375,000 settlement, which included a non-disclosure agreement.
Another woman claimed she was raped by Ronaldo after a party.
Ronaldo's lawyer Peter Christiansen confirmed the payment was made to Ms Mayorga, but criticised a fresh report at the weekend which he says was based on doctored evidence.
The documents which purportedly contain statements by Mr. Ronaldo and have been reported in the media are complete fabrications.
Mayorga says she came forward with the claims - which first appeared in German outlet Der Spiegel - after suffering continued trauma over the alleged incident, and having been emboldened by the MeToo movement.
American Kathryn Mayorga has accused Ronaldo of sexually assaulting her in a hotel in Las Vegas in 2009, something the Portuguese has strenuously refuted. Their 9,000-word interview, published two weeks ago, contained details of the documents. And further: "But she kept saying 'no.' 'Don't do it.' 'I'm not like the others.' I apologized afterwards". Telephone calls to Der Spiegel on Wednesday went to voicemail.
Florida Panhandle boarding up for hurricane Michael
Beachfront structures could be seen collapsing and metal roofing materials were blown away amid the heavy rain. The most likely cause for such sudden changes? In all, more than 400 people died in Florida.
He added: "So that there are no doubts: Cristiano Ronaldo vehemently denies all the accusations in this civil action, in consistency with what he has done in the last nine years".
"By 2015, dozens of entities [including law firms] in different parts of Europe were attacked and their electronic data stolen by a cyber criminal", said Christiansen. To absolve any doubt, Mr. Ronaldo has always maintained, as he does today, that what occurred in 2009 in Las Vegas was consensual in nature.
"Cristiano Ronaldo does not deny he agreed to conclude an agreement with [Ms Mayorga] but the reasons that led him to do so are at least to be misrepresented".
What happened was simply that Cristiano Ronaldo merely followed the advice of his advisers in order to put an end to the insulting accusations made against him in order to avoid attempts, such as those now witnessed, to destroy a reputation built thanks to intense work, great athleticism and ethically impeccable behavior.
"Unfortunately, it is now involved in the type of litigation that is very common in the United States".
