The SamsungGalaxy A9 (2018) is powered by octa-core (4x2.2GHz + 4x1.8GHz) processor and it comes with 6GB of RAM. There's also 128GB of in-built storage and a sizeable 3,800mAh battery, which Samsung claims is more than enough to keep the handset running throughout the day. More triple rear camera phones have been released afterward but some manufacturers are bent on setting a new record by releasing a phone with a quadruple rear camera system.
The smartphone is expected to feature an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, a 24-megapixel main camera, and a 5-megapixel depth camera for those portrait photos.
Evan Blass has spoiled a bit of Samsung's surprise ahead of the event, showing off a single image of the rear of the Galaxy A9 complete with its four cameras, which are arranged vertically in-line.
Thursday's announcements bear out the tech giant's push to roll out new technology and cutting-edge features for its mid-range devices first ahead of its flagships, in a boost to cheaper models.
"With these new phones we are reinventing the way we introduce breakthrough technologies to the people we serve".
Though Samsung has not officially confirmed which phone it will announce, the Galaxy A9 is the subject of a whole barrage of recent rumours.
