Tenth child dies from viral outbreak at New Jersey facility

Most of the patients who died were children who used wheelchairs and breathed with the help of ventilators at the Wanaque Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Haskell, Passaic County.

A total of 27 pediatric cases have been associated with the outbreak, including a staff member who has since recovered.

In both cases, the children have not been identified because of privacy concerns, but most are under age 18 and have extremely fragile immune systems.

Tribute Concert For Mac Miller Held Last Night
It's always sad to see somebody go at such a young age, especially when they're filled with as much promise as Miller was. The Happy hitmaker said in a clip: "Listening to all of your recent music, you really were using your voice".

The department said it's working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to monitor the illness and announced earlier this week that infection control teams were being sent to New Jersey's four long-term pediatric centers to help with training.

Health officials also say that there are four cases of adenovirus at a pediatric facility in Voorhees, but that the strains are different. At least one of the victims was a young adult. The outbreak was reported to authorities October 9, the state health department said.

Wanaque Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation has pushed back against the former patient's claims, citing its record of being ranked in the top ten percent of nursing facilities in the U.S. The previous date had been Monday.

Steve King Confronted About His Ties to White Nationalist Groups
When the questioner compared the anti-immigrant rhetoric both have expressed, King interrupted. The man said he was going to ask what distinguished King's views from those of the shooter.

Adenovirus has an incubation period of two to 14 days and symptoms typically appear two to 14 days after exposure to the virus.

Adenovirus usually poses little risk for healthy people.

Adenoviruses can cause a wide range of illnesses, including the common cold, sore throat, bronchitis, pneumonia, diarrhea, pink eye, fever, bladder infection, inflammation of the stomach or neurologic diseases. But it can be serious in people with weakened immune systems, like those at the centre.

Federal agencies at odds over cellphone cancer risk
The final verdict: cellphone radiation may sometimes cause tumors in rats at high, continuous doses, but not in people. The RFR levels in the studies ranged from 1.5-6 watts per kilogram in rats, and 2.5-10 watts per kilogram in mice.

Preliminary tests have ruled out the strain linked to the 10 deaths at the Wanaque facility. The child had become ill before October 22. "The facility is filthy....[There would be] bees sometimes coming in the patients' rooms". The paper said civilian outbreaks were not frequently reported because of a lack of lab resources.
