The train carrying iron ore travelled for 92kms without a driver

BHP Billiton has suspended all iron ore rail operations in Western Australia after a runaway freight train with no one on board travelled 92km before it had to be deliberately derailed.

In an effort to stop the runaway train, the company deliberately derailed it about 120km from BHP's Port Hedland mine operations. No one has been injured.

Amazon may decide to create two HQ2 locations, instead of just one
Splitting the project in two could also ease concerns over housing and traffic in host cities, the Journal reported. The company had promised to bring 50,000 high-paying jobs and $5 billion in construction to HQ2's home .

BHP said it was cooperating with investigators.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau said the train, operated by Australian mining company BNP, was traveling from Newman to the coastal city of Port Headland when the driver stopped the train to inspect a vehicle. "If there is significant track damage it could be that train loadings and speeds could be constrained post repairs and restarting of shipments", Edward Sterck, an analyst at BMO Capital Markets, told the Financial Times.

The UK has reportedly secured 'secret' Brexit concessions
But that goal has been complicated by May's intention to take Britain out of the EU customs union and single market. Mrs May failed to resolve the impasse over the Irish border in a phone call with the Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar .

It remains unclear what caused the train to take off by itself, but the Australian Transport Safety Bureau has already sent two experts to look into the matter.

In 2017, BHP was ranked as the world's largest mining company and it primarily mines coal, copper, iron ore and petroleum.
