Nokia 9 PureView with five rear cameras could be real after all

While there have been a few false dawns recently, it is still thought that Nokia will unveil its penta-lens camera phone soon - by early 2019 anyway.

The Nokia 9 PureView apparently leaves out the beloved headphone jack too, although shutterbugs might be willing to let that slide for the sake of possibly the world's most advanced photography setup.

Without a doubt, the biggest draw to the Nokia 9 is going to be its rear camera package. As well as the hexagonal penta-camera setup (with dual-tone flash and another proximity sensor) using Zeiss lenses, this new report also claims that the phone will be called the Nokia 9 and include a nostalgic nod to "PureView" in the branding. Above the screen, there's a single front camera and two sensors. He's provided a selection of renders, some in 5K, and a 360-degree video. It's also likely that the device will support face unlock, but we can't confirm that yet. The leaks also indicate that the phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, and not the upcoming Snapdragon 855 chipset, which might disappoint some users.

The power button and volume rocker are on the right, while the ejectable SIM card tray has been moved to the top.

The Nokia 9 is said to come with a 5.9inch 18:9 display with a QHD resolution. There are rumours suggesting that it will include other top-of-the-line specifications such as 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and the handset will be kept alive by a 4150mAh battery.
