'Red Dead Redemption 2' Missing Characters Bug Fix In the Works

Red Dead Redemption 2 Where to Find Iguanas

Rockstar is now working to fix a known glitch in Red Dead Redemption 2 that's causing certain companions to disappear from camp during the main story's early chapters. The characters Sadie, Jack, John, and Abigail won't appear in your gang's camp like they're supposed to unless they have missions for you to undertake. This prompted Rockstar Games to provide an update on their site to clue players in on what's going on and what they are doing to fix it.

While Rockstar works on a solution for the bug, the developer advises all players who have yet to complete "Polite Society, Valentine Style" to do so without retrying from a checkpoint. Currently, a bug in the game can cause Sadie, Jack, John, and Abigail-four of Arthur Morgan's camp companions-to disappear after the completion of chapter two.

He added: "I hope everyone understands my reasons now that I have explained them and I can concentrate on helping the team in the games that lie ahead".

Rockstar has filled out a support page with details about the bug and also promised to address the problem in a future title update for Red Dead Redemption 2. If you've already progressed well beyond that with your gang members missing, then it's bad news.

"In the interim, in order to experience all vignettes and conversations, players must complete the "Polite Society, Valentine Style" mission without using Retry Checkpoint". If the player fails any portion of the mission they should abandon and restart mission, or load a save before the mission failed.
