Australian police shot a knife-wielding man who is believed to have stabbed three people in Melbourne's city-center Friday, killing one of them.
Police initially responded to reports of a auto on fire at the corner of Bourke and Swanston streets. He has since been transported to the hospital under police guard and is in a critical condition.
Victoria Police confirmed they were not looking for any further suspects, and said there were no known links to terrorism at this stage of investigations.
Ambulance Victoria said paramedics had assessed three people at the scene.
A second person suffered a head injury and has been taken to hospital.
