Will Mueller Be Fired by Acting Attorney General Whitaker?

Those concerns are now focused on the future of the Mueller probe, which began as a look into alleged links with Russians seeking to disrupt the election and expanded into an investigation of billionaire Trump's murky finances, including his business ties to Russia.
After recusing himself from the Russian Federation probe, the staunchly conservative Sessions spent his time ramping up efforts to combat violent gangs, drug use and illegal immigration - all key components of Trump's law-and-order agenda.
"The firing of Sessions is widely viewed as a possible attempt to obstruct the ongoing special counsel investigation being conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice and headed by former FBI director Robert Mueller", said the organizers in a release.
Graham also praised Sessions, saying he had "served our nation well and honorably" and "dedicated his whole life to conservatism and upholding the Rule of Law".
Whitaker now becomes Mueller's new boss and judging by past statements he will be sympathetic towards Trump.
That duty has belonged to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller and closely monitors his work.
The Justice Department has declined to answer whether ethics officials have been asked to review if Whitaker should recuse himself from the Mueller probe.
In the House of Representatives, the senior Democrat on the Judiciary Committee - which Democrats will control from January - called for an investigation of Sessions' firing.
There is some question whether Mr Sessions was sacked or resigned.
"Why is the President making this change and who has authority over Special Counsel Mueller's investigation? We will be holding people accountable", he tweeted.
Good cause is a hard thing to show, especially since Mueller's actions were approved by the deputy attorney general, said Jens Ohlin, a professor of criminal law at Cornell Law School.
Top Democrats on multiple committees wrote to key Trump administration officials Wednesday night informing them that committees will be investigating Sessions' departure. Democrats are particularly interested in how Whitaker will oversee the Mueller probe, given his past comments questioning the scope of the investigation.
Trump blamed the recusal for the appointment of Mueller, who took over the Russian Federation investigation two months later and began examining whether Trump's hectoring of Sessions was part of a broader effort to obstruct the probe.
Mr Trump has vehemently denied any collusion took place, and repeatedly called for the inquiry to be shut down, calling it "the greatest political witch hunt in history".
"It should end, because it is very bad for the country", Trump told reporters.
Mr Trump said: "According to NBC News, Voters Nationwide Disapprove of the so-called Mueller Investigation (46%) more than they Approve (41%)".
"I could fire everybody right now, but I don't want to stop it because, politically, I don't like stopping it".
"They're wasting a lot of money, but I let it go on".
Pres. Trump says government will halt if Dems investigate him
The president also mocked Republicans who did not "embrace" him on the campaign trail , and went on to lose their election races. Republicans devoted their resources to close races, not to trying to prevent Democrats from running up the score in urban areas.
