Kanye West slammed by 'The Cher Show' actor for texting

04 December 2018, 05:06 | Elsie Buchanan

Broadway actor Jarrod Spector had criticized Kanye West after the music superstar used his phone during a performance of The Cher Show on Monday.

While most people might get away with this behavior without being called out to the world, actor Jarrod Spector, who plays Sonny Bono in the production, wasn't having it.

A source close to the rapper told TMZ that West wasn't texting, but that he loved the show so much that he was actually taking notes on his phone - and that he and wife Kim Kardashian were scheduled to leave during intermission, but pushed their flight back to stay until the end of the performance.

Kardashian West has reportedly been a fan of Cher's for years; in August, she honored Cher in a Harper's Bazaar Arabia cover shoot by copying her signature long locks calling the "Believe" singer her "number one style icon". 'If you look up from your cell phone you'll see we're doing a show up here. One person who hasn't chimed in on the confrontation is Cher herself - though the outspoken legend, who was also in attendance for opening night, has publicly commented on her devout admirer, Kardashian, in the past.

Kardashian even dressed as Cher a number of times for Halloween and paid homage to her in a Harper's Bazaar photoshoot past year.

She reiterated her admiration for Cher on the red carpet for the musical's opening night. "She's been just really cool and someone that I've always looked up to so I'm excited to be here tonight".
