O2 network down across Kent leaving thousands without data

Ericsson, whose central user database caused O2's 2012 25-hour mega-outage, told The Reg: "We are aware of the issue and are working together with our customers to solve it as soon as possible".

The O2 network has been hit with problems - meaning users are unable to access the internet when without a wifi connection.

The company is blaming software issues at one of its suppliers for the problems.

Google has also said that it will be changing the classic hangout to hangout chats and hangout meets on both mobile and desktop. With Hangouts and Allo out of the way, Google may finally have a straightforward approach to messaging.

O2 said its technical teams are working with its supplier's teams to fix the problem.

A data network outage that has left O2 customers unable to use mobile data is the result of a "global software issue" according to the operator. These include subsidiary Giff Gaff, and third-party networks, notably GiffGaff, Tesco Mobile, Sky Mobile and Lycamobile.

EU should sanction Iran over missile tests, U.S. says
The UNSC may be deadlocked because of the potential Russian veto, thus making it hard for the UN to deal with Iran's defiance. The GCC strategy, discussed at last week's conference in Riyadh, is multi-pronged.

Thousands of customers are believed to have been affected in the data blackout, which is also affecting customers of other mobile providers who use O2's service.

The Transport for London's electronic timetable service at bus stops relies on the O2 network, so this service is also down. Transport for London said: "The company that updates the data to our network of Countdown Systems is now experiencing difficulties in providing this service".

When these networks are taken into account, up to 32 million customers are affected. "Our technical teams are working extremely hard to resolve this", the company said.
