NBC announced on Wednesday that "Killing Eve" star Sandra Oh and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Andy Samberg will co-host the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
NBC confirmed Oh and Samberg would be hosting this year's awards earlier this morning via a statement credited to Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, co-chairmen of NBC Entertainment, who extolled the virtues of their new hosts.
While that may seem like a unusual coupling on paper, the duo were a highlight when presenting at the Emmy Awards together in September; an appearance which likely had a role in today's announcement.
With roughly a month to go until the Golden Globe Awards broadcast live from L.A.'s Beverly Hilton, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association have named this year's ceremony hosts.
Sandra took home a Golden Globe in 2006 for her role as Dr. Cristina Yang in the still running ABC drama, Grey's Anatomy.
The Killing Eve star and the Brooklyn Nine-Nine comedian will follow in the footsteps of this year's host, Seth Meyers, next January.
"Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg were unexpectedly fun together presenting at the Emmys and now I am even more excited for the #GoldenGlobes", another person said.
In most cases when a ceremony has two hosts, they are longtime friends or an onscreen duo - or both - like Fey and Poehler at the Globes, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin at the Oscars and Colin Jost and Michael Che at the Primetime Emmys.
