Cavaliers' Tristan Thompson fined $15K for flipping off Nets fans

According to the release, the incident occured at the end of the Cavaliers' 99-97 victory over the Brooklyn Nights on December 3.

The NBA on Thursday announced it has fined Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson $15,000 for flipping off fans during a game earlier this week in Brooklyn. It's not clear what sparked Thompson's gesture or if the fans were heckling him throughout the game.

Shortly after the buzzer sounded on the 99-97 Cleveland victory, Thompson turned to the Barclays Center crowd and flipped the bird.

Thompson isn't the only player to be slapped with a fine as a result of his interactions with hecklers this season. Warriors forward Kevin Durant was hit with a $25,000 fine last month for telling a fan to "watch the f-ing game and shut the f- up".
