Derek Fisher and Phil Jackson were the Hollywood power couple that would revitalize the New York Knicks.
The 60-year-old Agler resigned last Friday, prompting what the team announced at the time as a "comprehensive search" for a successor. Agler had an 85-51 record with the Sparks and led the team to the 2016 WNBA championship.
He has now found his way back to coaching, but in the WNBA.
In his National Basketball Association career, he scored 10,713 points, 2,658 rebounds, and 3,804 assists. Over the course of his career, he averaged 8.3 points and 3.0 assists per game on 39.9 percent shooting.
The former Los Angeles Lakers guard hopes to replicate the Sparks' glory days under Agler.
Before becoming a coach, Fisher played for 18 seasons in the National Basketball Association. He also played two seasons with the Golden State Warriors.
