It's starting to sound like a broken record, but the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall of more blood pressure drugs due to the presence of a potentially cancer-causing chemical.

The "recall is due to trace amounts of N-Nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA) in the losartan active pharmaceutical ingredient", which was manufactured by Hetero Labs Limited, according to the FDA. You can check out the full list of products along with their lot numbers on the FDA's recall page.

A medicine to treat blood pressure has been urgently recalled after it was found it might be contaminated with a carcinogenic chemical.

The FDA says Torrent has not had any complaints of adverse effects from taking the medication.

People taking these medications should continue to do so until they consult a pharmacist or physician who can advise them about an alternative treatment, the recall states.

While the drug impurities are serious enough to warrant these callbacks, halting the use of a blood pressure medication can cause other serious medical issues. And in November, Mylan Pharmaceuticals also issued a voluntary recall of some of its Amlodipine and Valsartan products for the same reason.

Aurobindo Pharma USA, recalling 80 lots of Amlodipine Valsartan Tablets USP, Valsartan HCTZ Tablets, USP and Valsartan Tablets USP. The drug is sold by several manufacturers, and in July of 2018 nearly a half-dozen companies were forced to recall their products due to the discovery of human carcinogens in the tablets.
