According to the report, the paternity fraud case is being brought to public attention in Mason's hope that the real father would surface for the benefit of the now grown-up men.
A woman was forced to pay £250,000 for tricking her "infertile" husband into believing three sons were his for 21 years.
His wife initially said, "Of course the boys are yours, no matter what the science might suggest", but later confessed to the betrayal when confronted by her eldest son, revealing she'd had an on-off affair during their 20-year marriage.
Richard, pictured with his new wife Emma, said his relationship with his kids has crumbled after a DNA proved they weren't biologically his.
Now, in what is thought to be the first case of its kind, 54-year-old Kate has agreed to repay him £250,000 (R4,5 million) in an out-of-court settlement.
The disease prevents male sufferers from having children and the Mirror reported DNA tests established Mr Mason was not the biological father of 19-year-old twin boys and their eldest child, who is now 23.
He also paid her a monthly amount of about $5,300 to contribute to the upbringing of the children.
Mason, now in his mid-50s, was diagnosed at the time with the genetic condition cystic fibrosis.
Speaking to The Mail on Sunday Mr Mason explained that finding out his sons weren't really his has left his life in pieces.
'Someone says to you, "All you know and everything you thought solid and true is not real, and never did exist". "We were confident that we would get a court order whereby the ex-wife, the mother of the children, would have to name the father".
Mr Mason, from Rhos, North Wales, believes it is a clue to the identity of the real father, but he is tortured by not knowing who he is and has called on his ex-wife to admit the truth if only for the sake of her sons.
