Huawei Kunpeng 920 launch event
Despite political controversy from across the globe, Huawei is not hesitant to continue pushing their expansion.
Huawei Technologies unveils new server chipset reducing heavy import dependency, particularly from the United States. The CPU was independently designed by Huawei based on the ARMv8 architecture and the chip significantly improves processor performance by optimising branch prediction algorithms which increases the number of OP units and improves the memory subsystem architecture.
Huawei said the Kunpeng 920 chip is designed for servers that handle a flood of data from smartphones, video and other network services. Huawei said the chip offers 30 percent power efficiency over its competitors. TaiShan will deliver 20% higher computing performance and much lower power consumption for enterprises.
That said, Huawei's new products will have an ecosystem effect, as more attention is paid to improving performance for server applications on Arm. In such a context, ARM systems stand out with unique advantages in performance and power consumption...
Adam Gase to be new Jets head coach
The team hired the former Miami Dolphins coach as their new head coach Wednesday night, WFAN's Brian Costello confirmed. National Football League head coaching vacancies have started to get filled up, but Mike McCarthy remains on the market.
Huawei's TaiShan servers are built for big data, distributed storage and ARM-native application scenarios. The company also unveiled a new server based on the processors.
The launch of the new chipset puts Huawei in direct competition with Advanced Micro Devices Inc and NVIDIA Corp. Huawei has invested patiently and intensively in computing innovation to continuously make breakthroughs.
ARM has typically been a player in mobile devices with its chipsets, but it has of late tried to push into the server and cloud market.
William Xu, director, chief strategy marketing officer, chairman of the Investment Review Board of Huawei, speaks during an unveiling ceremony for a processor chip in Shenzhen, China, on January 7, 2019.
Huawei believes that an intelligent society with all things connected, sensing, and intelligent is underway, and this trend is picking up speeds.
"We will work with global partners to drive the development of the ARM ecosystem and expand the computing space and embrace a diversified computing era". In addition, new applications in cloud computing are driving data diversity.
Though no benchmarks are available, based on specifications alone, the Kunpeng 920 should easily outperform Amazon's Graviton CPU, which was announced in November 2018. Xu said that the company, despite the recent move, will continue its long-term strategic partnership with Intel and is not a competitor to the USA company's x86 CPUs and servers, but just a complementary.

Manchester City vs. Burton Albion (Carabao Cup)
Even that felt generous after just five minutes, when De Bruyne's goal began a rout that turned into a humiliation. Six became seven a few moments later when Jesus grabbed his fourth with Sane heavily involved once again.
