Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is taking an increasingly visible role in the British royal family as she becomes the patron of four organizations including the prestigious National Theatre.

The palace says the queen "has passed on" the role of patron of the National Theatre and the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

Meghan Markle has been carrying out her royal duties alongside Prince Harry with a smile on her face.

The duchess, who supported various animal rescue centres when she lived in Los Angeles in America, will also with with Mayhew, an animal welfare charity working to improve the lives of dogs, cats and people in communities both in London and internationally.

Meghan has always been a vocal feminist, working with organizations like One World Vision to learn about the challenges women and girls living in Dubai and Mumbai.

Within a couple of hours of the announcement by Kensington Palace the duchess visited one of the organisations, Smart Works, which helps vulnerable women gain employment.

"The Duchess shares our passion for the transformational power of higher education, and Her Royal Highness' support will help champion higher education as a force for good in the Commonwealth and beyond", she said.

While Mayhew is a grassroots animal welfare organisation. She became the fourth member of the Royal Foundation, started by William, Kate and Harry, at the time of her wedding.
