HDon Lemon right urged Kevin Hart left to be more of an ally to the LGBTQ community
While the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences still haven't chosen a host for the 2019 Oscars, comedian Awkwafina has thrown her name into the mix.
Announcing his decision to step down, Hart said in a statement: "I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year's Oscars.this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many awesome talented artists. I apologize", he said on the show.
"Don Lemon goes on CNN and goes, 'You can fix this, become an ally.' That's not my, that's not my life dream", Hart said. "I would like to call myself a perfectionist, so if I do something I want to give it my all". I'm about today. If (my apology is) accepted today, great.

"The Avengers" Cast Reportedly Preparing To Host The Oscars
It's been nearly 30 years since that Oscars ceremony, and it's still considered the biggest disaster in the award show's history. Sources told Variety that producers will select A-listers to introduce segments like the opening monologue and performances.
The 39-year-old Hart repeatedly reiterated to Strahan on Wednesday that he is "over" talking about his old tweets and said there would be "no more conversation about it".
He was asked to talk about how he's evolved, but declined.
"The people who produce that show are hogtied by the Academy, who as a group are not willing to change very much", an awards show and live events producer anonymously told the outlet. I've done it. I've done it severaltimes ...
"I've tweeted it, I've talked about it when I went on Ellen. I did it. I'm over", Hart told Colbert. Reports suggest that right up until recently the hope was that Hart would be able to take the job back if he issued some sort of adequate public apology.
He also meant to discuss some previous viral moments at the awards show and how "you don't want to be a meme". You don't want to turn into what you're fighting against. "You want my arms?" If you feed this energy then it's going to grow. You've already expressed that it's not being educated on the subject, not realizing how risky those words are, not realizing how many kids are killed for being gay or beaten up every day ... I'm not giving no more... I'm not addressing it.
