An arrest warrant was issued this past summer for a man named James Mason, R. Kelly's former manager, after Mason was accused of threatening to kill Joycelyn Savage's father Timothy Savage, CNN is reporting.

Investigators' quieries come as the Lifetime series adds a new dimension to the sexual abuse allegations Kelly has faced for the better part of his almost 30-year career. Kelly has denied the allegations and reportedly threatened to sue Lifetime before the series went to air.

A military veteran and Buckeye State native, I've written for the likes of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Business Chronicle and the Detroit Free Press. While the lawyer for the parents of one of Kelly's alleged victims told the Times that senior investigators from the D.A.'s office recently contacted him about the allegations, the office itself has declined to comment on whether they are looking into the claims.

Every male employee at a private care facility where a patient in a vegetative state gave birth last month is being DNA tested. For example, an investigation in 2013 found that a staff member had made "inappropriate, sexual statements" about four clients.

Protesters urged legal action against Kelly, and a boycott of Kelly's music, after women claimed they were sexually abused and mistreated by Kelly in the Lifetime documentary, Surviving R Kelly.

- In the midst of calls for investigations into allegations against singer R. Kelly, the Chicago-based attorney for the musician broke his silence Wednesday evening defending his client.

"In order to have an investigation we have to have victims and witnesses who are willing to come forward with information", Foxx said.

Foxx said that after watching the series herself, "I was sickened by the allegations. She essentially went up there and said, 'We have no evidence of a crime, but if someone would like to make something up, please call us'". The case stems from previous year, when an anonymous woman claimed Kelly gave her an STI and held her captive as a sex slave in 2017.

Multiple times in the past, Kelly has been defiant as criticism against him has crested, so such an appearance would not seem out of character. His albums continued to top charts while he was on trial for child pornography, and many of his hit songs, like "I Believe I Can Fly" and "Ignition (Remix)", are still played widely.
