Rudy Giuliani: Donald Trump won't answer any follow-up questions for Mueller probe: Report
The Times reported that FBI investigators looked into whether Trump's actions could be considered a threat to national security. According to Politico, at least 33 people and three companies have been charged as a result of the Mueller investigation.
Trump'slawyers and Mueller's team have had no contact since then, Giuliani said.
In an interview with Reuters, Giuliani said Mueller raised the possibility of follow-up questions but that the president's outside legal team told the special counsel before Christmas that Trump would not respond. "We weren't convinced they had any questions they don't know the answer to".
The grand jury empaneled by the special counsel has been extended for another six months, however, signaling that the probe may continue beyond the winter.
During the campaign, FBI officials were troubled by Trump's ties to Russia, and opened an investigation into the campaign in August 2016, two months after the Trump Tower meeting between campaign senior officials and Russian surrogates.
Mueller is believed to be investigating whether Comey's firing and other actions amount to obstruction of justice by the president.
Robert Mueller took over the investigation when he was appointed special counsel soon after Comey's firing.
No evidence has been revealed publicly asserting that Trump had secret contact with or was influenced by Russian government officials, and spokespeople for both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and special counsel's office refused to comment.

But the president's activities before and after Comey's firing in May 2017, particularly two instances in which Trump tied the Comey dismissal to the Russian Federation investigation, helped prompt the counterintelligence aspect of the inquiry, the people said.
It's not clear whether the report will ever be released publicly.
Giuliani said it is unclear to the legal team whether acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker or Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is now in charge of the investigation.
