U.S. wants Western tech to be used instead of Huawei kit

The tougher stance reflects growing security concerns in the West about Huawei

Huawei says the concern is unfounded. The same day, President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping meet in Argentina and announce a cease-fire in the U.S.

Canada is pushing for more consular access to both men and has demanded their immediate release.

The government also visited with Spavor for the third time since he was arrested in China on charges of "endangering Chinese national security".
