McArthur, 67, received eight concurrent life sentences from Justice John McMahon, and will not be eligible for parole for 25 years, when he's 91. Read their updates below. McArthur sexually assaulted, killed and dismembered men he met in the "gay village". Two of Kinsman's sisters would occasionally nod in agreement when McMahon would describe the depraved nature of McArthur's actions, and shake their heads at some of the graphic details of his crimes, particularly those about their brother.

"First, their loved ones went missing... in numerous victim impact statements friends and families recount searching for months on end fruitlessly, holding on to hope their loved one was alive and well", he said. "I believe that this is the best possible outcome for the families and the community". She said she had "lost any motivation for life" and that she didn't want to live in a world "which became so terribly cruel". "This court can not give them what they want the most - which is their loved one back".

For murders so brutal and so horrific, prosecutors wanted McArthur to serve 50 years before he can apply for parole. "There's a fine line between retribution, which is an appropriate sentencing principle, and vengeance".

"If the accused had either had a trial or would have been a younger man, I would have had no hesitation of imposing a consecutive parole".

Oakley then tried to punch McGrady after she criticized the commissioner's behavior, the report stated. Oakley reportedly said she plans to appeal an ethics violation ruling from the commission.

"I'm not happy with it, not happy at all with it".

The main question surrounds the Chief's December 2017 statement that there was "no evidence of a serial killer" when we now know McArthur was on the radar and charged as serial killer just a month later. "I have no doubt some, if not all of the jury and court staff, would be in need of counselling at the end of the day to deal with it".

Triple killer Dellen Millard must wait 75 years to seek parole - he'll be 102. We are in the courts for years sometimes with a basic murder case.

The investigation led to the additional murder charges.

Newshour, Pope admits sexual abuse of nuns by clergy
To date, much of the clergy abuse scandal has focused on minors, who represent the vast majority of cases. After the cardinal became pope, he reopened the investigation and dissolved the order, Pope Francis said.

"We put people and resources in place to mitigate the risk (to public safety)", Det.

"The accused is a sexual predator and killer who lured his victims on the pretext of consensual sex and he ended up killing them for his own warped and sick gratification", McMahon said. On his computer, investigators found file folders for his eight victims containing photographs of each of them. "Worries about entering relationships, and fear of becoming a victim", he said. "He also exploited others through a belief he was their friend", McMahon said.

He especially condemned McArthur's exploitation of his victims' vulnerabilities.

He was naked, tied to a bed and had a bag over his head. "Although there can be no closure from a crime of this magnitude, we hope that these eight convictions for first degree murder will assist our community in beginning a new chapter of healing".
