Twitter has been abuzz with news of the public disagreement between Ariana Grande and Grammy producers. It's unclear if they will attend the show.

According to a recent report from Variety, Ariana Grande, whose Grammy appearance and rumored performance has been advertised on billboards promoting the show - will not be serenading the audience at the Staples Center or, for that matter, even showing up.

Lamar is known for his attention-grabbing, often political Grammy performances, like his fiery 2016 rendition of his "To Pimp a Butterfly" tracks, so his absence is sure to be missed by many.

Current nominees Chloe x Halle, Grammy victor Lady Gaga, Grammy victor Mark Ronson and Grammy nominee Travis Scott are set to perform Sunday. She's nominated for her Sweetener album and "God Is a Woman" song.

And dark clouds are surrounding R. Kelly, who was dropped by Sony Music following allegations of sexually abusive behavior.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar - who won a Pulitzer Prize for his album "DAMN." but not a Grammy for Album of the Year - earned eight nominations, while Canadian rapper Drake snagged seven.

He is nominated for eight Grammys this year, inlcuding two for Best Rap Song, Best Song, and Rap Performance.

Gaga, victor of six Grammys, is now nominated for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Song Written For Visual Media for "Shallow" and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Joanne".

"A dynamic artist with the rare combination of groundbreaking talent and passion for her craft, Alicia Keys is the ideal choice as host for our show", said Neil Portnow, president and CEO of the Recording Academy.
