Facebook becomes the next company to take a stand against the anti-vaccine movement with their announcement of new policies against the spread of false information about vaccines.

By reducing their rank, such groups and pages don't show up on the News Feed and Searches of other people.

"If a group or Page admin posts this vaccine misinformation, we will exclude the entire group or Page from recommendations, reduce these groups and Pages' distribution in News Feed and Search, and reject ads with this misinformation".

Recently, another social media platform, Pinterest, suspended all searches for anything related to vaccines. In the letter, he passed remarks that Facebook and Instagram, are "surfacing and recommending messages" that demoralize children's vaccination.

Most significantly, it will completely ban adverts that "include misinformation about vaccinations" and remove the ability of advertisers to target people who. Anti-vax posts and pages, however, will remain live.

Facebook is moving to halt the spread of misinformation in the form of vaccine hoaxes.

Like Facebook, YouTube has also pulled advertising from videos that feature anti-vaccination conspiracy theories, a move the video-sharing site initially publicized last month.

In February, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., sent letters to the heads of Facebook and Google, which also has been under fire for YouTube's role in promoting misinformation, asking how they plan to protect their users from potentially risky hoaxes.
