Minneapolis Police on April 12 2019
Police received an initial report at 10:17am saying a child had fallen from the third level of the mall, but witnesses reported the child was pushed or thrown by a man, Potts said.
In an update posted to an online fundraising page for the family on Sunday afternoon, a family friend reported that the boy - whose first name is Landen - "had a peaceful sleep and is still continuing to fight his courageous battle; he's a strong survivor!"
The fundraiser was over $400,000 by Sunday morning.
He was arrested and has since been charged with attempted homicide.
According to court records, the suspect has been previously barred from the Mall of America. The boy was rushed to a local hospital with "significant injuries" from the 40-foot fall, authorities said, and was still being treated 24 hours later.
Barr to AOC: Apologize before you come to Kentucky
The Omar controversy stems from comments she made last month at a Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) fundraiser. But Barr in the Friday letter said Ocasio-Cortez's remarks about Crenshaw go too far.
Chief Potts said the suspect had three run-ins with Bloomington officers back in 2015, but had not had any contact since. "Oh, my God, my baby, someone threw him over the edge, '" Brian Johnson told WCCO.
Well-wishers have now donated over $360,000 to the family of a 5-year-old boy who was thrown from the third floor of the Mall of America in Minnesota by a total stranger.
Potts said the Mall of America will often give a no-trespass order to offenders, with a time limit appropriate to the crime.
Potts said, emphasizing that police believe this to be an 'isolated incident'.
Police do not believe there was any connection between the family and Aranda.
The Mall of America issued a statement on Friday, saying: "This was a senseless act and words can not truly express our profound shock and sadness".
Court documents also show that the mall assault suspect was convicted of property damage for smashing five computers at Sumner Library in Minneapolis in August of 2015, causing about $5,000 in damage. We have counseling services available for anyone who may need assistance.
Police confirmed that there is video of the incident but said it will not be released until the investigation is complete.
The woman refused, and Aranda allegedly threw a glass of water in her face and a glass of tea that struck her leg.
The complaint says Aranda approached a woman who was waiting for the restaurant to open and asked her to buy him something.
Aranda's previous ban from the mall was not in effect at the time of the incident.
