She was rushed to hospital where she later died of her injuries.

Her uncle Gregory Monfries, said: "This is not a good time".

In 2013, a school official told the Fordham Ram that the tower was "rather dangerous" and therefore "off limits" to students.

A 22-year-old student was killed after tripping and falling from Fordham University's clock tower.

Although it is restricted, climbing the tower is a common trend among students who are set to graduate, reports said. "Pease don't hesitate to use them: no matter how you reach out, I promise you someone will be there to listen", he wrote.

Israel likely to resend spacecraft to moon after first mission failed
It provided the power to get the spacecraft all the way to the Moon, but it also took Beresheet on its final descent. He stated in a live stream that there was a failure in the craft and they couldn't land it successfully.

Police said that Monfries and her friends were climbing stairs inside the tower when she fell through an opening on one of the landings.

A 22-year-old college senior fell to her death in NY while climbing the stairs of an off-limits campus clock tower in the early hours of Sunday, authorities said.

Monfries lost her footing and fell about 30 or 40 feet, officials said.

However the tower is off-limits to students and should have been locked, though there is now no information on whether the tower was unlocked or if the lock had been tampered with.

Emergency responders found Monfries unconscious inside the tower at about 3:17 a.m. local time with a low pulse and trauma to her head, The Post reported.

Monfries was from Portland, Oregon, and was studying journalism at the university.

President McShane said the school would award Monfries's bachelor's degree posthumously.

"It's like a senior thing to go on the most popular building on campus", one student said. The bell tower has recently become a place for graduating seniors to sneak into as a rite of passage. "They usually go late at night at around 1 or 2 a.m.to drink and see the view".

The Sun reported another student, only identified by the first name Dave, claimed Ms Monfries and her friends had dined at a restaurant where he worked shortly before the accident. I'll never forget all of our memories back when you lived in NJ and I'll forever cherish them!
