Tlaib: Palestinians created ‘safe haven’ for Jews after the Holocaust

‘Kind of a Calming Feeling’: GOP Slams Rashida Tlaib Over Holocaust Description
The congresswoman, who is of Palestinian descent and plans to lead a congressional delegation on a trip to the West Bank in August, said she took some time to reflect on the Holocaust several weeks ago, and found herself "humbled that it was my ancestors that had to suffer" in order to create a safe haven for Jews after World War II. And what's incredibly - you know, the tragedy of the Holocaust - I mean, the reason why Israel was created was to create a safe haven for Jews around the world and there is something, in many ways, attractive about that my ancestors, many had died or had to give up their livelihood, their human dignity to provide a safe haven for Jews in our world.
Anyone who reads the entire comment can easily see that Tlaib was simply praising her Palestinian ancestors for creating a "safe haven for Jews post the Holocaust" while advocating for freedom, safety, and equality for all involved.
During the podcast, however, Tlaib also spoke of the "horrific persecution of Jews" but said that Palestinians were forced to give up their land "in a way that took their human dignity away".
Reactions did not wait, and Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations accused Tlaib of antisemitism and of trying to rewrite history with her comments, while President Donald Trump called Tlaib's remarks "horrible and highly insensitive".
"There's no context in which it is ok to say that a calming feeling comes over you when you think of the Holocaust". Conservative critics, including President Trump, seized on Tlaib's remarks, interpreting them to imply that she approved of the Holocaust.
Both Pelosi and Hoyer tweeted Monday defending Tlaib and said that the congressional Republicans comments are "outrageous" and they they "owe her an apology".
Yair Rosenberg, a writer for the online Jewish magazine Tablet, said Ms. Tlaib's comments were historically inaccurate but not anti-Semitic. She also knows she can't give her Palestinian forebears credit for helping the Jews while also casting them as victims of Jewish predation. "All of you who are trying to silence me will fail miserably", the freshman lawmaker tweeted Sunday. "And I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that in many ways", Tlaib said.

"Instead of recognizing that the accusations against me are false and that my words have been blatantly misconstrued, Trump has once again used his platform to incite hate and violence based on lies", Tlaib said in a statement.
Rashida Tlaib is known for being an opponent of U.S. aid to Israel, and an open supporter of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which is a global campaign that seeks to exert political, economic and cultural pressure on Israel to end its alleged oppression of Palestinians.
"More than six million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust; there is nothing "calming" about that fact", Scalise said in a statement. "I will never allow you to take my words out of context and push your racist and hateful agenda". In fact, she claimed to be the victim of racists who objected to her statement: "You know, I got a text from a friend who's like, 'Hey, next time, you know, really clarify". So, because of the Palestinian Arabs' violent revolts, Jews were unable to escape Nazi oppression in Europe and flee to their ancient homeland, trapping them in Hitler's genocidal prison.
Shahid Kapoor nails his act in Kabir Singh's trailer
In an interview with IANS, Shahid said he realised that remaking a film is a hard process as one can not "copy" the original. We are very happy that Sandeep sir is directing the Hindi version and he knows these characters more than anyone else.
Tlaib, a Muslim of Palestinian descent, supports the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement which seeks to eliminate Israel and advocates a one-state solution.
