Ben Zobrist and wife Julianna have filed documents to end their marriage

Julianna Zobrist, who is a singer, had been seen at Ben's side throughout major milestones in his career. They have three children together.

Ben filed for divorce in Williamson County in Tennessee on Wednesday, alleging she "has been guilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which rendered further cohabitation impossible".

Julianna, a Christian pop star, was the one to file on May 13, according to Cook County circuit court records (h/t the Chicago Sun-Times.) Julianna is listed as the plaintiff, and the filing cites "irreconcilable differences" as the grounds for the divorce.

Cubs second baseman Ben Zobrist will remain on a personal leave of absence from the team indefinitely amid a divorce. Court records show the filing was Monday.

The Zobrists, both children of preachers, were married December 17, 2005, in Iowa City, Iowa, her hometown.

They made a point during their time with the Rays never to go more than six days without seeing each other, as Julianna would travel on her own with the kids to road trips. She has performed the national anthem for teams that her husband has played for and also sang the anthem before Game 4 of the 2016 World Series, which the Cubs won.
